Your only job is to decide which type of heat you would like to have, Davis Plumbing & Heating will take it from there and get your new system going.

Boiler

Boiler

Installing a boiler will give you comfortable heat throughout the winter.  Hydronic systems do not move air, so you will have fewer drafts through the house.  The boiler also heats your home without drying out the air, therefore causing no damage to your furniture and woodwork.  We install a variety of boilers, including, Bryant, Weil-Mclain, Buderus, and Burnham.

Bryant's hard-working Preferred BW9 Boiler is the ideal match for your home's radiant system, with a fuel-efficient aluminum heat exchanger that delivers an up to 90% AFUE rating. You'll enjoy higher heating efficiency and lower energy costs.  Engineered for efficiency and built cast iron tough, the Preferred BW4/5 Boiler is our most advanced oil-fueled radiant heat system. It delivers quiet, even, draft-free warmth and an AFUE rating of up to 90% for unbeatable energy savings.

Geo Thermal

A Geothermal Heat Pump is an excellent way to “green” up your home.  You can use energy from your own yard to save on your heating and cooling costs.  The pump is an electrically powered device that uses the earth’s natural heat storage and/or groundwater to heat and cool your home.

How does it heat and cool your home?
During the heating cycle, the fluid circulates through the loop extracting heat from the ground. The heat energy is transferred to the geothermal unit. The unit compresses the extracted heat to a high temperature and delivers it to your home through a normal duct system or radiant heat system.

For cooling, the process is simply reversed. Because the earth is much cooler than the air temperatures on a hot day, the geothermal system removes heat from the home and deposits it into the ground. The fluid is cooled by the ground temperatures and returned to the unit for cooling your home.

There are two different types of loop systems for geothermal, open-loop and closed-loop.  Open-loop describes the system that uses groundwater from a conventional well as a heat source in winter and a heat sink in the summer.  Closed-loop describes the system that uses a continuous loop of special buried plastic pipe as a heat exchanger.  The pipe, along with the heat pump, forms a sealed loop through which water or an anti-freeze solution is circulated.

The three main parts of the geothermal heat system are the heat pump unit, the liquid heat exchange medium (open or closed loop), and the air delivery system (ductwork).  Using a Hot Water Generator (HWG) with your system, some types of geothermal heat pumps can save you up to 50% on you water heating bill by pre-heating the tank water.

Floor Heating

Imagine getting out of bed on a cold, winter morning trying to find your slippers for your icy feet. Now, imagine getting out of bed on that same cold, winter morning walking barefoot on warm, comfortable floors, which are also heating your house. You haven’t felt comfort until you have felt floor heat. Davis Plumbing & Heating runs Wirsbo tubing, from the boiler, in loops under the floor. That circulates the hot water throughout the floor warming the floor and heating the house. In smaller rooms, like bathrooms, we use mats with an electric grid in them to keep the whole floor consistently warm throughout the room. The temperature is controlled by a thermostat, so you can set it at the temperature you want.
